WoW Forever: where to pick up Hall of Thanes and Lordaeron quests

Which two dungeons are these?

Hall of Thanes has an announced level range of 13–18; Ruins of Lordaeron is listed at 15–20. Those ranges are not minimum quest levels. This guide brings together pickup locations reported by September 19, 2026.

Alliance: reach Old Ironforge first

Afadra Dunwall was reported in this area. The report helps locate the NPC but does not identify her quest, so we do not assign one to her.

1. 01

   Find the stairs in the throne room

   Enter Magni’s throne room in Ironforge. Take the descending passage on your left to Old Ironforge. A beta player confirmed finding the stairs using these directions.

Hall of Thanes: where to check for quests

Beta participants report five quests, while the published quest cache lists four. Use these stops as a checklist rather than a guarantee that your character can accept every quest.

Quest names to check in your log

The beta cache lists An Ancient Grudge, Important Heirlooms, The Restless Dead and Old Ironforge Incursion. The last asks for Durgen Dirgehammer’s head and names Magni as the recipient. That establishes the turn-in, not the chain’s starting location.

Horde: four pickups before Ruins of Lordaeron

Wowhead beta comments identify four quests starting outside the instance. The cached texts agree with several of the NPCs and objectives. Exact coordinates have not been verified.

Starting in Undercity? Pick up its two quests, then visit Brill and the Sepulcher before meeting your party. Adjust it for your current location and available travel options.

One tester reports accepting all four at level 15 despite their displayed quest level being 22. Treat that as a beta observation rather than a universal requirement. If a pickup is missing, check your quest progression before assuming the dungeon has no quests.

   Morbin Lightbane in Undercity. One report places it in the same room as the city’s Ragefire Chasm quest pickups.

   Theodore Griffs in Undercity’s Apothecarium.

   The Wrath of Rath’mael

   Deathguard Kristof in Brill, Tirisfal Glades.

   A Frightened Request

   The Sepulcher, Silverpine Forest. The reports checked do not confirm the giver’s name.

Keep an eye on quest items too

The cache also describes a crest to return to Oran Snakewrithe in Undercity, alongside quests marked for Alliance. Lordaeron therefore has documented leads for that faction too. This guide does not establish every starting item, drop source or prerequisite. Inspect items marked as quest-related before selling them.
