WoW Forever beta: when does the level 30 cap unlock?

WoW Forever beta starts with a level 20 cap and will later rise to 30. Here is the confirmed timing and what Blizzard has not dated yet.

The short version

  • Blizzard plans to raise the beta cap from 20 to 30 but has not announced an exact date as of September 24.
  • More zones, dungeons and a battleground will open during beta; Blizzard has not tied each to the cap increase.
  • Level 60 belongs to the full game, not this beta.

When can you level past 20?

As of September 24, 2026, Blizzard says the beta begins with a level 20 cap and will rise to 30 later in the test. Its official beta post gives no day or hour for that change. If your character stops gaining levels at 20, you have reached the current phase cap; there is no missing unlock quest to find.

What else opens later in beta?

Blizzard says additional zones, dungeons and a new battleground will open for testing as beta continues. It does not say that every addition arrives alongside the level 30 cap. Week one includes zone content through level 20, Hall of Thanes (13–18) and Ruins of Lordaeron (15–20).

How do you check when it changes?

Watch Blizzard’s announcements and the official beta forum notes. After an update, restart Battle.net if your client does not show new content, and check the cap in game. There is no official unlock time to convert to your time zone yet.

Is level 30 the final cap?

No. Level 30 is the planned cap for a later beta phase. Blizzard describes progression to level 60 in the full game. October 21 is the final full beta test day in Blizzard’s announcement.
