WoW Forever beta: increased weather effects are coming
Blizzard says increased weather effects are coming to the WoW Forever beta. It has not announced a date, affected zones or settings.

WoW Forever launches November 4 at 3 p.m. PST. Check which packs include beta access, what a subscription covers and when friend codes can actually be used.

November 4 or November 5?
Blizzard’s US upgrade page gives November 4, 2026 at 3 p.m. PST. Its French pages give midnight on November 5 in Paris. These refer to the same moment. Players planning around the French date should set aside Wednesday night into Thursday.
Which packs include the beta?
The Skyborne Epic Pack and Warcraft Forever Collection include beta access. The Heroic Pack’s listed benefits do not. Blizzard schedules testing from September 17 through October 21; that window does not establish whether servers are currently available.
What time does the beta open?
The upgrade announcement gives September 17 as the start date, without an exact opening time. November 4 at 3 p.m. PST is the full release time; it cannot be used to work out when the beta opens.
On September 17, Kaivax confirmed that players were waiting while the team worked through issues before opening the beta. That post documents the start of testing, not live server status. If you are waiting to connect today, check recent posts in the official beta forum.
Do you need to buy Forever?
Launch access is included with a WoW subscription or game time. Upgrade editions add optional benefits. If you just want to start at release, check your subscription before choosing an upgrade.
When can you reserve a character name?
Early name reservation runs from October 27 through November 3, 2026, using the dates Blizzard labels PST. Any upgrade purchase includes it, including Heroic. You can create and customize up to three characters. Names are allocated in reservation order, so buying an upgrade does not guarantee your preferred name.
Friend codes are for launch week
The community FAQ shows players mixing up friend invitations and beta access. Blizzard’s conditions restrict those codes to eligible invitees during launch week. They do not replace beta access.
September 18 update
Added the confirmed Paris launch time, replacing our earlier “time to be confirmed” wording. Clarified pack access and friend codes.
September 19 update
Added name reservation conditions and the official beta-opening message. The guide now explicitly separates the full release time from the testing schedule.
