WoW Forever Warrior leveling build: talents 10–20
Warrior Fury in WoW Forever: level 10–20 talent order, selected rank effects and practical advice for adapting your leveling build to solo quests.
WoW4EverNEWSFor the players of Forever.
Bear, wolf or cat? Our provisional hunter pet picks for Beast Mastery, Marksmanship and Survival in WoW Forever, with PvE uses, PvP utility and beta caveats.
For small solo pulls as BM, start with a bear that has Swipe. For physical support as Marksmanship, consider a tallstrider. For Survival in a melee group, the wolf is our first utility pick. None of these ranks establishes the highest DPS: comparable tests at equal level and gear are still missing.
S is our first priority for the stated situation; A is a useful alternative; B has a narrower use. The tiers compare this selection of families, not the entire roster. They assume your pet actually knows the relevant ability at an available rank. A database spell entry does not prove that every way to learn it has already been found in beta.
BM invests heavily in its companion. For solo progression, we prioritize handling enemies and keeping fights moving. Cat remains an offensive candidate, but putting it above every new Forever ability would require further testing.
| Tier | Pet | Use and reasoning |
|---|---|---|
| S | Bear | Small solo packs: Swipe hits multiple targets. Our first pick for this job, without a promise of holding all threat. |
| A | Cat | An offensive candidate for consecutive single targets. Its actual lead over other families remains unmeasured. |
| A | Tallstrider | Dust Cloud lowers armor, making it worth considering when physical damage dominates. |
| A | Wolf | Prioritize it when joining a melee group that benefits from its support. |
| B | Crocolisk | More valuable against a target receiving healing; lower priority against ordinary enemies that never heal. |
Marksmanship can take Lone Wolf, which Icy Veins describes as a damage bonus without an active pet. It sits outside this table: petless is not a family, and we have no validated DPS comparison proving it wins in every situation.
For a pet build, the following priorities depend on your needs. During solo quests, bear can move ahead of tallstrider if several enemies keep stopping you from shooting safely.
| Tier | Pet | Use and reasoning |
|---|---|---|
| S | Tallstrider | Physical support against an enemy whose armor can be reduced; less valuable if that need is already covered. |
| A | Bear | Solo packs: our comfort pick for more manageable engagements. |
| A | Cat | A straightforward offensive option to compare on single targets. |
| A | Crab | Control a moving enemy and create distance rather than chase a stationary-target damage record. |
| B | Wolf | Supports melee allies. The current howl wording does not promise ranged attack power for the Hunter. |
Wolf is our utility pick for Survival. Fighting up close lets the Hunter benefit from melee support. This S tier depends on group composition and an equivalent effect not already being covered; it is not proof of the highest personal DPS.
Raptor deserves testing, but a data mismatch prevents us from treating its bleed amplification as certain: the Savage Rend learning entry mentions it, while the active spell entry we checked describes only the bleed.
| Tier | Pet | Use and reasoning |
|---|---|---|
| S | Wolf | First support choice in the melee-group context described above. |
| A | Tallstrider | An alternative when armor reduction contributes more to the group. |
| A | Raptor | A candidate against enemies that live long enough for its bleed; additional synergy needs confirmation. |
| A | Bear | Move it up the list for solo play against small packs. |
| B | Crab | More useful when chasing a target than fighting a stationary boss. |
These utility priorities apply to all three specs when using a pet. Immunities, control already supplied by an ally, or a target your pet cannot reach can reverse the order.
| Tier | Pet | Use and reasoning |
|---|---|---|
| S | Crocolisk | Against healing: Dismember lists 50% reduced healing received for 10 seconds. |
| S | Crab | To pin down a moving target: Pinch lists a 50% slow for 9 seconds. |
| A | Owl | Against weapon users: Mine! lists a 4-second disarm. Less useful against spellcasters. |
Open your companion’s spellbook before judging its family. In a 21 September thread, one Hunter describes taming beasts to learn their abilities; another reports being unable to open Beast Training to teach Growl. These are beta experiences, not a confirmed troubleshooting procedure.
An S rank assumes the named ability is available. A bear without Swipe cannot deliver the benefit behind its table entry. Then compare equal-level pets against the same enemy type: deaths, time on target and total damage. A rare name is no substitute for that check.
Correction, 21 September: foxes are no longer a family without a confirmed discovery. Beastmaster’s 19 September notes list level-10 Vuldren Alpha with Trickster’s Dance Rank I. We leave it unranked for lack of a sufficient comparison; Core Hounds also remain outside this selection.
A player report and beta records highlight the level 8–9 Onery Galestrider, listed at a 1.3-second attack interval. Our dedicated article examines Faster Attack V and Dust Cloud. The rankings above remain utility choices; there is no comparative DPS evidence yet to replace them.
