The short version

  • A talent reset costs 1 silver if you have not respecced recently; this beta-only price returns after one hour.
  • Hunter pets, Feral Druids, Mages, Paladins, Shamans and Warriors received meaningful changes. Recheck any pre-patch build advice.
  • Campfire buffs no longer stop casting or crafting while you wait; the new Cooldown Manager is opt-in and still has known tracking issues.

First, the changes you can use today

The September 24 build is a full beta update, not just server maintenance. A talent reset now drops to 1 silver if you have not changed talents recently. A reset raises the cost again, which falls back to 1 silver after one hour. Blizzard says this pricing is temporary for beta, so do not treat it as a launch rule. Campfire buffs can now arrive while you sit, kneel or lie down, and waiting for one no longer interrupts crafting, spellcasting or buffs.

Which class changes matter most?

These are the most actionable highlights from Blizzard’s much longer class list. Numbers describe the beta build, not a final damage ranking. In particular, a talent guide written before September 24 may now use an old name or talent position.

Quests, items and interface

Several quest bottlenecks have been adjusted, including faster spawns in Elwynn Forest, Dun Morogh, Mulgore, Silverpine Forest and Westfall. The Defias Messenger spawns more often; the Gnarlpine Furbolg objective falls from 20 kills to 15. Blizzard also adjusted some low-level quest rewards. Wands no longer receive extra damage from the user’s spell-damage stat; Minor, Lesser and regular Wizard Oil return to Classic Era values of 8, 16 and 24 spell power. The Cooldown Manager can now be enabled in Gameplay Enhancement options for Druid, Mage, Priest, Warrior and Warlock testing; it is off by default.

What remains broken?

Blizzard’s updated known-issues list says pet and item-enhancement cooldown tracking still fails, Arcane Blast cannot be tracked, and changing a party may move players to another world instance. The Stormwind minimap also has a display problem. These are known issues, not features fixed by the September 24 build.
