WoW Forever: how to get the Cozy Sleeping Bag

A quest reward available from level 14

The Cozy Sleeping Bag is the final reward of the hidden chain beginning with ...and that note you found. Its item level of 40 does not mean you must reach character level 40 to start. One beta player reports completing the chain at level 17.

Expect travel between both continents. Our advice is to combine it with trips you already need, rather than abandon a productive questing session solely for the buff.

Follow the clues: coordinates and actions

Alliance starts in Westfall, then visits the Barrens. Horde visits these two stops in reverse order. Both factions then follow the same route. Coordinates follow Wowhead’s Forever guide.

   Alliance start — Westfall · 37, 50

   At Alexston Farmstead, inspect the burned remains to start ...and that note you found. Then visit the burned remains in the Barrens. For Horde, this is the second stop.

   Horde start — Barrens · 46, 74

   South of Taurajo, inspect the burned remains to start the chain. Then visit the remains in Westfall. For Alliance, this is the second stop.

3. 03

   Camp access — Stonetalon · 50.9, 52.3

   Reach the path into the camp, then continue to the Stepping Stones location.

4. 04

   Stepping Stones — Stonetalon · 40.6, 52.4

   Look for Pocket Litter. The location comment places the note on a first-aid crate left of the tent. Finish Stepping Stones, collect its reward and accept Scramble before leaving.

   Scramble — Stonetalon · 39.6, 49.8

   Head north to Mound of Dirt, the buried stash. Watch the cliff mentioned in the quest. The route continues to the Loch Modan dam with Wet Job.

   Wet Job — Loch Modan · 49.4, 12.9

   At the dam, jump onto the carved heads facing the Wetlands to reach the Eagle Figurine. Turn in Wet Job and accept Eagle’s Fist before travelling to Thoradin’s Wall.

   Eagle’s Fist — Hillsbrad · 87.3, 49.6

   At Thoradin’s Wall, climb using the cart. Pass through the room and look right for the hanging bag.

   Final turn-in — Thoradin’s Wall · 87.3, 49.6

   Take the final quest from the Messenger Bag, then turn it in at the Hastily Rolled-Up Satchel below. Interacting with the first bag alone does not finish the chain.

Collect the 12-slot bag

Stepping Stones rewards a Sturdy Lunchbox with 12 inventory slots, before the final sleeping bag. That is an immediate benefit if bag space is already slowing you down.

Activate the XP buff

   Activate the XP buff

   Unroll the sleeping bag out of combat and remain in its area. It has a 15-second cast and a one-hour cooldown. A one-minute trigger builds the buff: three minutes yield three stacks, for 3% XP according to the tooltip and beta report.

Check the duration in your client

Duration needs a check in your client: the Well-Rested spell page lists two hours, while Wowhead’s guide says one hour. Read the timer on your beta buff; the item’s reuse cooldown is a separate timer.

Student Fodder has changed since SoD

Student Fodder also appears among the rewards. Its Forever effect page describes healing and resource restoration, and a beta report says the old SoD rested-XP gain does not work. Do not plan your leveling around free levels from these consumables.
