WoW Forever: best Warlock race, Alliance and Horde
Gnome for Alliance, Orc for Horde: the viable alternatives, racials and spec exceptions in Forever beta.
The short version
- PvE starting picks: Alliance Gnome; Horde Orc.
- Affliction/Demonology/Destruction: Gnome or Orc for a general damage plan; Undead rises if fear or PvP defines your play.
Alliance: preferred races

| 1. Gnome | Eureka offers cheaper, stronger casts; the larger resource pool supports long fights. |
| 2. Human | Spirit helps recovery; sword specialization is conditional on actually equipping a sword. |
Horde: preferred races

| 1. Orc | Blood Fury adds a spell-power burst. Do not assume the old Classic pet-damage racial exists here. |
| 2. Troll | Berserking increases casting speed for a short damage window. |
| 3. Undead | Will of the Forsaken is a strong PvP and fear-counter choice; Touch of the Grave adds some damage. |

These are provisional PvE recommendations for the Forever beta, based on the published racial traits and class guides. They are not measured DPS rankings. A race that cannot play this class is excluded.
Only playable combinations are listed. Where a faction has fewer than three eligible races, there is no artificial top three. Gear, encounter, PvP and beta tuning can change the best pick.
