Playing with friends: agree before character creation

Blizzard confirms that grouping requires the same faction and ruleset. Normal focuses on cooperation, PvP adds conflict between factions, and Roleplaying caters to players who want to inhabit their characters. Hardcore follows after launch.

Classic and Enhanced affect presentation; your ruleset is a separate choice. A language preference is also planned, without promising an exclusively English-speaking realm.

Check the new race and class combinations

The source guide lists six additions: Gnome Priest, Human Hunter, Dwarf Shaman, Orc Mage, Troll Warlock and Undead Paladin. Check your intended combination before settling on a faction.

Skyborne class choices vary by faction. The presentation places Mages on the Alliance side and Shaman on the Horde side, with Warriors, Hunters, Rogues and Druids on both. Skyborne access is tied to the relevant upgrade benefits; consult our release and beta guide before buying a pack.

Choose Classic or Enhanced, then adjust the settings

WoW4Ever.fr’s September 14 walkthrough shows two starting presets. Classic favours older character models and fewer visual aids. Enhanced switches on several convenience options. You can customise these settings afterwards, so choosing Classic does not lock you into every default.

Prepare a few full names

Blizzard describes a two-part identity, similar to a first name and surname. The full name must be unique within the region. Seeing someone use your preferred first name therefore does not establish that your full combination is unavailable.

The source does not confirm character limits, allowed punctuation or a shared family system for your alts.

What the demonstration cannot establish

The test realm list shown in the walkthrough is not a launch server list. An “Incompatible” entry also does not establish an account problem by itself.
