WoW Forever: rare chase drops on every raid boss

A rare item to keep chasing on each boss gives raids a reason to stay on the calendar. That does not mean a guaranteed legendary every time you win.

The short version

  • Powerful and rare does not automatically mean legendary quality.
  • A repeat clear offers another chance, not a guaranteed reward.

What a chase drop means

In his Sun interview, Kris Zierhut announces powerful low-chance drops on every raid boss.

Chase describes an item you pursue. It does not specify the quality colour, exact drop rate or acquisition process. Having an item on a loot table does not mean it drops after every kill.

Raids come in 10-, 20- and 40-player formats. Tier pieces are spread across all three.

A legendary or a quest starter?

The material reviewed does not establish that all these items are legendary, or that they are always quest starters. That requires examining the actual items.

Clearing a raid does not mean collecting everything you wanted. Depending on your gear and role, an older boss could remain worth visiting. It does not follow that every player must clear every raid forever.

Making room for farm nights

Public discussion weighs keeping older raids worthwhile against the prospect of chasing an item for months. A low drop rate can make the eventual reward exciting; it can also mean a long run of empty-handed evenings.

Our guild advice: agree on a time limit for farm runs and explain loot rules before the first pull. An evening the group chooses together is easier to sustain than another obligation added after the fact.
