Talents: a 21-point starting build

The illustrated path above suits solo leveling and provides a starting build for dungeons. Hover over or open ⓘ to read each selected rank. Piercing Howl provides control; it is not a measured DPS increase. Flurry does not fit these 21 points. Do not copy a 26-point build without the required extra Legacy points.

What the hotfix changes

Blizzard’s October 2 update increases the additional Rage from a critical strike to 100%, up from 75%. Furious Precision now provides off-hand hit chance; Dual Wield Specialization improves off-hand damage and Rage. Weapons and weapon skill still matter: repeated misses interrupt your resource flow.

Death Wish increases Physical damage by 20% for 30 seconds, with 5% more damage taken. Use it when the target will survive long enough; avoid dangerous incoming-damage phases.

Berserker Stance: finish the level-30 quest

The quest route goes through Klannoc Macleod and his trial, ending with Big Will. Berserker Stance offers critical strike chance with increased damage taken. Battle Stance remains useful for Charge and Overpower; staying in Berserker Stance all the time is unnecessary.

Berserker Rage is available at level 30 after the October 2 change. Whirlwind and Pummel are outside this cap’s toolkit. Shield Bash requires a shield and a compatible stance.

Weapons and gear: avoid a false BiS list

Compare weapon damage and your trained skill before swapping equipment. Hit, Crit and Strength matter for Fury, but comparable level-30 damage measurements are missing here. Our Arms and Protection lists are not a Fury BiS list.

Checked October 7 against Blizzard’s October 2 notes, the talent export generated October 6 and recent Forever guides. Combat advice is practical synthesis; no damage ranking is claimed.

Incoming Rage: October 8 fixes

Stamina no longer lowers incoming Rage. Incoming crits, crushing blows and absorbs are corrected; the balancing baseline varies by level from 20–40%. Keep defensive gear: this does not encourage removing armor. The +100% bonus on your own crits, announced October 2, is a separate rule.
