WoW Forever: what are decipherable Mage scrolls for?

   Check both requirements

   Comprehend Scroll is listed at level 6 in the Forever database. Check the scroll’s separate Comprehension skill requirement.

   Decipher it or offer it to a Mage

   A Mage uses Comprehend Scroll to decipher the item. If you play another class, read the tooltip and check that the scroll can be traded before offering it to a Mage.

Comprehend Scroll, Research and Study: which one do you need?

Comprehend Scroll deciphers an item. Research opens the research interface; Study is the action that makes a bundle of scrolls. The item data also distinguishes deciphering from production in build 1.60.1.69913.

   Prepare Study

   Study’s record requires one Light Feather and a suitable library. It lists a six-second cast and a one-hour cooldown. These are beta database values checked on 21 September; compare them with your client.

Follow the Alliance lead: Tower of Azora

One player reports finding a book in the Tower of Azora in Elwynn Forest and returning it to the Stormwind Mages. That gives Alliance players a reported lead, not a complete book route or a verified Horde equivalent.

Library Shelf: blueprint location unknown

The Library Shelf record describes a camp installation that provides library access near a campfire. The record does not tell us where its blueprint is learned, so it cannot establish a vendor location.

Missing Research: report the bug

Several comments on Wowhead’s Research page report the ability disappearing after logout. If that happens, record the spell name, returned book and client build for a bug report. We do not have a verified workaround.

What can the scrolls give you?

In the beta discussion, one player describes Strength or Agility scrolls, effects resembling small Evocations and a non-combat familiar that grants Intellect. These are player-reported results; the complete reward pool and its probabilities have not been established here.

Read the result before using it. Reports distinguish Mage-only effects from other buffs. Buying a stack in pursuit of one particular reward is a gamble with unknown odds.

Old SoD guides can send you the wrong way

Season of Discovery used Comprehension Charms and tied some discoveries to runes. Those recipes and rewards do not automatically apply to Forever. Check the game version before buying a reagent or setting out to find a rune.
